you can log in to your google voice account and play the message from your inbox. you'd be able to check your gv vmail using your phone if you have international roaming...and as mentioned, the per minute on that is a little steep. even if you use a local pre-paid sim card, you'd still be calling your US based number so that particular carrier's international calling fee applies.

like i mentioned...you can check it using your phone when you're out of the country...granted that you activated international roaming with your carrier...but the roaming charges apply of course. if checking it using a local pre-paid sim card in the country you are visiting, then the international calling rate applies when you call your gv number to check your vmail. |

i recently went to europe for 2 weeks and i just bought a cheap sim card for 2O euroes , worked right out the box... i was able to check my voicemails using google voice and text back nd forward using GV when needed it... for calling back home just used Skype
