Batteries:
http://batteryboss.org/ Also, if you are worried about your TP2 being a slug, just cook your own ROM. My custom ROM flies! 100MB free after 2 weeks (using around 85MB)! No resets, over 2000 text messages, 200 contacts, all my favorite software pre-installed...honestly its a dream machine!! Eer, as long as you don't want to use Sling Mobile, Sirius Radio, have a working TV out, play movies in multiple formats etc etc etc etc........(in other words, all my favorite apps & none of them work in Android but all work just fine in my TP2) ~John |

Re: Help pls - need to chose a device before end of the week
On extended batteries: Seidio have some good ones...I've had good luck with them for my Mogul and my TP. Didn't feel that I needed one for my TP2. If you don't mind custom ROM's and tweaks and such...you won't need extended batteries.
I read that extended post about WinMo...WinMo in its current form, the flexibility is hard to beat. Things we can do with our TP2s the iPhone/Android/Berry users can't match. Flexibility is not a deal breaker for me. Professionally, any M$ productivity software can be covered by iWorks on my Pad. My Outlook syncs beautifully with my Google acc'ts and thus syncs beautifully with WHATEVER device I happen to carry. I am NOT sold on the iPhone, never have and probably never will be. I own an iPad (3G) love the functionality it gives me (yes even multitasking.) Between iWorks, Dropbox, and my Google acc't synced email...I'm good. I am moving on from the TP2 to the EVO. Can't pass it up, I'm ready for Android...and have been waiting for Sprint to drop "the IT" device. I have played with Eclair on my TP2 for a bit...and I like Android integrates some of their key apps. My suggestion...if you're going Android...go EVO. If you do stay with WinMo, and have an upgrade...I suggest you wait for the SECOND wave of Windows Phone 7 devices.

Re: Help pls - need to chose a device before end of the week
I have no smartphone now - just a PDA, albeit probably the best one ever made. Otherwise I'd wait for the new devices, but I do want to have a device with internet access, and don't want to spend several more months waiting for something better to arrive. My wife's phone is eligible in February, so if something better arrives, I can give her TP2. I have no problems with WM 6.1 on my Axim (maybe, because I don't know what I am missing ?
![]() Anyway, I ordered TP2 last night, should arrive tomorrow, so you can expect a flood of questions of variable silliness on this forum in weeks to come. It was WM and stylus that won it for me. No other Sprint device offers a stylus, AFAIK. I did check it out in the store - didn't buy there since they wanted $18 "service charge". It seemed relatively snappy, although there was an unpleasant lag in starting phone dial pad. Since I never read about this issue, and since there must've been a couple hundred applications running in the b/g on this display unit, I assumed this was something I can deal with later if needed. A nice surprise was the size and feel of the keyboard, it felt much more comfortable than one on Moment (and the Moment's one wasn't bad to start with). Another nice surprise was the ability to tilt the screen up like you do on a laptop - I have a feeling this is going to be super handy in meetings. A nasty surprise was the lack of DPad (c'mon, HTC ! This is stupid), and just how short the stylus was - only good for emergencies. Anyway, I've made my (rather predictable) choice. BTW, any of you guys are former Aximsite members, by any chance ? |

Amd you thought the stylus was short? Man, you should've seen the TP1 stylus... it's probably 2/3-3/4 the size of the TP2 stylus! |
