Re: How To Tether? TP2, Apple Snow Leopard, WM 6.1
Do you want to strictly use USB or WIFI is fine?
If WIFI is fine try HTC Wifi Router...also you probably should install the stealth cab in the sticky.

Hmm, I am very interested in what you say. When exactly did you first notice that usb modem wasn't working? Can you describe the exact meaning of where it doesn't Work? Reason is I have WModem which works like usbmodem. And this works fine on my TP ,but I couldnt get itto work on TP2. When I try to initiate a connection dial-up I am Stucked oh the verify username box on the pc. There seems to be some attempt by the phone to connect as can be seen w/ the data connection symbol at the top bar of the phone as well as inside thc WModem prog, but it never goes thr on the pc. I did get ICS to work on my TP2 to use the phone to connect to the Net but I like to get WModem to Work since you get anon NAT public ip (which usbmodem also gives)as you would like to get usbmodem to Work since you can't use Ics on apple. Wmodem and usbmodem work very similarly. We arc definitely on the same mission The only other possibility is BT DUN or wifi internet phone router. I don't quite like either as much |

WiFi would obviously be easier than getting a USB cable out, but I was under the impression that the only FREE tethering was over BT or USB. Thanks in advance for the replies. |

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Windows Mobile; WCE; Opera Mobi/WMD-50430; U; en) Presto/2.4.13 Version/10.00)
When I was on vacation I used WMWIFIRouter v0.94 and it worked like a charm. U just turn it on then connect ur mac using the wifi. connection speed was equivalent to dsl speeds. But u have to find v0.94 as I believe that was the last free version.

Scan for the wireless network on your laptop and enter the key that you set up on Wifi Router. The app basically turns your phone into a wireless bridge. Here's where to find it: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=75461 Should work find on your apple. All the work is done on the phone, your Laptop just thinks it's connecting to an ad-hoc wireless network. Last edited by xjack; 05-29-2010 at 03:06 PM. Reason: link |

Re: How To Tether? TP2, Apple Snow Leopard, WM 6.1
FYI, I installed "XDA-Tom_Codon CM Wifi Internet Sharing VGA" and it works like a charm. Anyone have any feedback on that?
I'm planning on upgrading to Windows Mobile 6.5 will that program still work? Thanks! |

Re: How To Tether? TP2, Apple Snow Leopard, WM 6.1
Hi,
I just installed the XPA wireless on my Sprint HTC Pro 2 running Windows Mobile 6.5. Works like a charm. I just got an iPad and it works great with that. Who needs to pay extra for AT&T 3G for the iPad |
