Are you running a Stock ROM or using a Cooked one?

if you are using a Stock ROM try reloading it from the PC,

Link to Stock ROM's

If you are running a Cooked ROM try running Task29

Found below

Than reinstall the ROM.

Re: slider sound

Ok, before I do that, should I think about running a Mighty ROM or Mr. X ROM or something like that? What are the benifits and losses to doing that instead of the stock?

My personal opinion is that the Custom ROM's out there solve a lot of the stock ROM issues, also removing a bunch of the bloat wear that's included in the ROM. Defiantly something to consider. but right now I would try flashing back to stock first to see if that fixes your slider issue than look into Flashing a custom ROM.

I am a Big MightyROM fan but Mr. X creates some really good stuff on par with Mighty too.
