Re: TP2 Memory loss?

yes at least my q9c could go weeks without rebooting.

it was a great phone for email/text web browsing was always painfull.

i guess i just expected more out of such a newer winmobile device.

WM is more than just a Phone, if you want just a Phone that you don't have to reboot go get one of the cheap flips with nothing to it, WM Phone are Computers with a Phone added to it, and like ANY computer you are going to need to reboot every now and than thats just how it is. Everyone needs to understand that The more complex a devise is and the more sophisticated it get's = more problem's that can happen, its just how it works. so I think if people spent a little less time Bashing it and a little more time realizing what they have your going to have a different outlook on it.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: TP2 Memory loss?

well thats nice and all but im comparing it to a 6.1 windows mobile standard device. not a clam shell.

as i have never owned one... do android phones have these issues? how about the iphone?
im not trying to be sarcastic, im asking a question.

comparing the phone to a computer is a mistake. look at the uptime on linux servers/desktops. even my windows 7 box is rebooted maybe once a week. if we are comparing the touch pro2 to something computer equivalent id say its like windows ME.
the tp2 is an awesome device as far as hardware goes. windows mobile is the weak link.

All Smart Phone's are going to have there quirk's. go read though some of the android's and iPhone forums, you will see just as many issues as WM. Honestly I think the thing that causes the most issues with TP2 is Sense because it push's the phone to it's limit's. try turning off Sense and run it with Titanium or nothing but the standard today screen and don't install anything. My last phone the Treo 700wx ran as solid as a Rock, I had 2 programs installed and virtually never had to softreset, I think I did it about once every few months just to do it. I had Exchange running on it for my work, I had my Gmail setup with Pop3 on it, I surfed the web on it, I played games on it and it just worked.

Rant On..........

Its all in personal User experience, we all use are phone's in different ways and install different things, I personally love Sense, Yea its got its issues but nothing so over whelming that it makes it unusable for me. it really just boils down to whether or not you can learn to live with it or not. Speed is relative to what you believe is fast and not. if its not fast enough for you maybe its not the right device for you. Most of the people that visit these kinds of site's are more than your average user and want to take things to Max and completely personalize there hardware to there tastes and it just takes time and patients. Sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't. take it all in stride and learn to adapt otherwise you will always feel its never enough.

Rant off........
