Re: Tp2 Like an IPOD? for car stereo?
I use an Acoustic Research ARWH2 2.4 GHz Mini-Bridge Stereo Headset in my car. These can be found for around $20. I connect the ARWH2 to my car stereo (using a 1/8'' male-to-male plug) an dcharge it via USB. It syncs easily with my cellphone and allows me to play my music via Bluetooth (in high-quality stereo) without having to upgrade to a bluetooth-enabled head unit. It does help that the aux input for my stereo and a power source are in my car's center console (under the armrest).

Re: Tp2 Like an IPOD? for car stereo?
Awesome! I thought I was the only one who still did it that way... and it works fine for me too. I even took a cheap hard shell plastic TP2 back cover and screwed it into a spot on my dashboard in my Explorer next to the radio so I have easier access to it while on the road, holds my phone like a cradle.

I use the Sense media player and actually like it. That and Slacker Radio.

Re: Tp2 Like an IPOD? for car stereo?
I hook mine up to the line in connection on my head unit. Sounds really good. (Although I use a Carputer as my primary audio source - a Samsung Q1U running Centrafuse as the front end)
The only caveat with using my phone for music is that it plays the ringtones too. So one minute I may be jamming to Mark Knopfler and the next I may be hearing "Fractal" ring tone at deafening volumes. It really gets your attention quick. As far as playing the music, I use the HTC sense music player. David

Re: Tp2 Like an IPOD? for car stereo?
My pioneer aftermarket head unit has usb and aux in on the front which makes it convenient. But when I tried through the usb, I got an error that it couldn't read it, so I just use a 3.5mm aux cord and I am getting a new car charger that will fit next to it so I can charge at the same time.
right now I am using a cupholder mp3 holder but I am going to take it apart and screw it to the dash right next to the steering wheel so it's easier to get to and see. Question though, if I get the usb to work (so it can charge as well), will it play the streaming web (like pandora or slacker) and will I be able to answer the calls through the car like with the aux in? or is it going to consider the phone just an ext. drive?

I have posted this mogul hybrid before... you cannot find a cheaper hacked solution.
