Re: Why is everyone so against the WModem concept for TP2?

you are using this file (WModem_2.25_Cab.zip) from this post, right? http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=27313

i've tried it on 5 different custom roms now and the start button is always greyed out. I'm installing to device. Not sure whats causing it.

Re: Why is everyone so against the WModem concept for TP2?

ya, there's no reason why it should be greyed out. there are 3 files which is installed. I were you, I would also try to see if I can manually installed it by copying the 3 files (actually only 2 since the third is a .lnk shortcut file) to the correct dir manually.

I've try to run the exe only in an isolated directory and it still let me press the start. So in your case is both the start and stop greyed out?

That is the wierdest thing I 've heard.

Update: I have tried Mightyrom and no go on wmodem still. Definitely a nice rom though. Got about 100 more MB of free hard disk space on the device compared to stock. Free RAM is about the same.

Will keep going...

Re: Why is everyone so against the WModem concept for TP2?

YesSSSSS!!! IT WORKS. That is the answer.... A new ver of wmodem. Of course make sure you have the usual registry changes for tether detection. but o/w oh yess.. here we go with nonNATed ip again

Razorloves, you kick ass dude....

This deserves a sticky thread...... if any op reads this, please have this file in a sticky thread by itself. I guess we can have this in the mogul and tp1 thread too, although those guys probably can still use the older 2.25 wmodem but looks like TP2 you have to have v 2.59 wmodem to work..

Like wildpigs, I've been looking all over for the Wmodem method to tether. Thanks so much for the cab razorloves. Just want to make sure the cab has the registry fixes for stealth tethering?
