Taskbar Volume Control in 6.5 Sprint Rom

In the 6.5 Sprint Rom what is supposed to happen when you tap the volume icon in the taskbar? I know that in the Sprint 6.1 stock Rom it opened the volume control. I ask this because I never checked it after flashing this Rom before installing custom taskbars, and I find that now all it does is go to the notifications rather than to volume control. Is that what is supposed to be in the 6.5 Rom or have I broken it with a bad taskbar?

If in this Rom the taskbar icon should open volume control is there any way to get that function back if I've broken it with a bad taskbar? I need to get to the volume control through the taskbar as I've remapped it for other functions.

I take that to mean that the behavior I see is normal -- I haven't broken it, correct?

If so, is there any way to change it? I'd like to keep my volume buttons remapped to up and down controls, but I also need volume control.

i just control volume with the buttons on the side. They work fine. Go all the way with the bottom one and it mutes.

I prefer to have them mapped to up and down controls for certain programs (using the keyboard control program). It doesn't seem possible to remap them only for those programs (if so I'd like to know; I'd do it that way); just to remap for everything and exclude a program.

You can certainly map them on an application basis using the keyboard controller program. I have mine mapped for up/down arrows in pocket outlook, and volume control everywhere else.

You create a rule within the key setup which defines the window name in which the key should operate differently. Then you select that rule at the top (vs. *, which is "everywhere else") and map the key the way you want based om that rule.

Thank you so much. I knew I could use a rule to exclude the remapping for certain programs but didn't realize I could use a rule to map only for a certain program. Solves my problem here and opens up lots of other possibilities.

that increases ring,notification,speaker volume... permanently pretty much, unless you use silent.. has nothing to do with the volume keys
