Windows Live Contacts sync

Hello, I would love to stop my phone from syncing contacts from my windows live account. The check boxes to do this are greyed out. It keeps throwing duplicates on my phone. I would love to just get the e-mail and not the contacts. Any way to do this?

Do you have it set to sync via myphone automatically?

I'm not sure. I know I set up the hotmail account to be synced every hour. Where do I go to check? Thanks for you help.

Sounds like you used Myphone to sync things up, might want to go check that. in the settings of Myphone uncheck contacts.

I'm so lost now. I went into myPhone on the web (kind of cool stuff) and there are no contacts there. I think it's syncing with my hotmail account. When I go into the hotmail account I can see them. It just keeps making duplucates every now and then on the phone. Very weird. The stupid thing is that it's all microsoft product that doesn't work together !! lol

This is why I use Gmail.

So I just went through the Windows live setup, and when you are setting that up it asks you if you want to sync your contact. it is already checked. I would delete the setup and redo it and make sure to uncheck sync contacts.

You should be able to delete all the settings for your hotmail account. When you go to recreate the account, make sure that you DO NOT check the option to sync your contacts.

Try using the setting sync with another account, that should clear what was installed. than re setup your account and make sure to deselect contacts.

Guys, I'm so sorry, think of me as BooBoo the chimp with a phone. I went in to the settings but I can't figure out how to delete a setting. Where do I go to do this?
