Re: Blew rear speakers out, not insured.

How do you toast the speakers? Seriously, does the internal amplifier even have enough amperage to roast the voice coils? Anyone know what the wattage rating is on the speakers? Well, I got some subs sittin around I can sell you.... heheheh

I second what savir90 said. Do a hard reset, if that don't fix it then the speakers are most likely messed up. And do the whiff test. Take the back cover off and put your nose up to the speakers. Take a whiff for that very familiar burnt lacquer coated copper coil. I don't know if you are familiar with that, but I am. I've worked with electronics and speakers for years. Fried a ton of them, some on purpose. I often wonder if a phones internal amp would be enough to overheat the coils..... on BOTH speakers?? Hmm That does sound messed up, for both to be cooked.

Hard reset once, and did the flash dance too (just in case). Still crackling
badly.

Thanks.

Edited to add the following: I also did task-29 before re-flashing.
