Re: how to enable A-GPS setting?
Got me looking once I read this post. I thought AGPS was already enabled by default, but I guess on some phones such as with Verizon, they turn it off and hide the function. Please note, A-GPS is a CDMA only function as far as I am aware of. The actual name for A-GPS is GpsOne. It's another chipset by Qualcomm that enhances GPS tracking.
Now, I THINK the setting that enables GpsOne is here HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA In here, there is a DWORD setting labeled "GPSOneSetting". The default value for that is "0" . I would assume changing that value to 1 would enable A-GPS but i'm not 100% sure. I have changed the setting and don't really notice much of a difference. You may have to restart your phone after changing the setting. Just, whatever you do, don't mess with "My Location" setting in Phone settings menu, otherwise it will reset the GpsOne setting back to "0" or off. If you do that, simply just change it back to "1" minus quotes. Within the same key, there is another DWORD labeled "GPSLockWorkaround" which has a setting value of "0". I have no idea what this does and I didn't mess with it yet. As far as the A-GPS setting within the menu, I have no idea because I have never seen it before. Let me know if either of those settings do anything for you..... or anyone else.
