Re: Most of US want an EVO.. but no 4G service in sight for most of OUR area????

I think everyone should volunteer to have one put on their house. such a little thing, no wonder they are talking about putting them on top of all the walmarts.

I think the problem with new york city is sheer number of towers to get around all the skyscrapers. there's a reason that at&t's coverage in new york is so shoddy. not to mention sprint is probably looking at their market share in each area as well. why put it in new york first if everyone in new york has verizon or at&t. sprint is very popular in texas and north carolina because they are probably number 1 with military bases. 2 biggest military bases are in texas and north carolina.

also, sprint does a lot of signal testing in corpus christi texas, so it probably wasn't a reach to spread out through texas.

Re: Most of US want an EVO.. but no 4G service in sight for most of OUR area????

Long list of current and markets being opened this year on page 2. New York is one of them. Good theory on why Texas and North Carolina got the most markets to start. Soon Sprints 4G coverage may be greater than AT&T's 3G, though everyone is trying to get their LTE 4G up.

The current markets are Baltimore, Philly, Potland, Salem,OR, Tacoma, Seattle, Bellingham,WA, Boise, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Milligeville,GA, Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham NC, Chapel Hill NC, Greensboro NC, Winston-Salem NC, High Point NC, Chicago, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Abilene TX, Amarillo TX, Austin, Corpus Christi TX, Killeen-Temple TX, Lubbock TX, Midland-Odessa TX, San Antonio TX, Waco TX, Wichita Falls TX, Honolulu, and Maui

Both Texas and North Carolina got a lot of love from Sprint.
EDIT: And for the OP in Michigan, I found this story...
http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapi...max_4g_br.html
This litigation affects 4G in 81 markets including markets in Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio and Tennessee. The territory includes key markets such as Grand Rapids (MI), Fort Wayne (IN), the Tri-Cities region of Tennessee (Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol), Scranton (PA), Saginaw-Bay City (MI), Central Illinois (Peoria, Springfield, Decatur, and Champaign) and the Quad Cities region of Illinois and Iowa (Bettendorf and Davenport, IA, and Moline and Rock Island, IL). Thanks iPCS!

Great... iPCS owns most of the sprint stores in this area and I feel like they're stifling Sprint expansion. I had an 8gb sdhc card stolen from me a year ago by a repair tech while one of my 11 TPs had to be fixed. They don't care much about customer service and don't try too hard to sock new phones. When I got my TP the Sprint stores refused to say sprint was selling them when it died for the first time 3 weeks after I got it. I had to call *2 to get a replacement. Screw iPCS

Re: Most of US want an EVO.. but no 4G service in sight for most of OUR area????

sprints not about to suddenly spring up a million markets in the next 6 months, when theres like 25 in last 2 yrs.. until that walmart deal goes through or busts(theyll come up with something else if offically busted), dont expect to see a big explosion in 4G coverage any time soon....

im still getting an EVO too, just wondered if itd sway people against it is all

3G/4G USB Modem U301 and the Overdrive from Sprint. Just because there is no phone at the moment doesn't mean there aren't any devices out there.

I can say that Best Buy sells quite a few of those two even in markets without 4G. So take for instance NY... if they had it and even no phone, Wall Street could go crazy with 4G data for their laptops

On the first part of this thread.... i think it will be out before we know it. If the phone comes out in June, we wont be waiting too long I dont think for 4G. Regardless it will be a very nice phone. And when it does hit for those who dont have it, it will be a VERY VERY nice phone.
