Wirelessly posted (Touch Pro 2: Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))

I did the unspeakable and wandered into a VZW store today and looked at the incredible. I rather like it, it's fast. I will miss winmo if I do switch to the evo though.

Advantages to the incredible:
-Fast
-Beautiful screen
-Touch is more responsive, but capacitive is going to take some getting used to when i have become so adept with resistive screens
-Android isn't bad
-Thin and light

Cons:
-Screen rotation really slow? I went to go to landscape to try the keyboard and it took like 2-3 seconds to switch
-No more winmo I need an OBD datalogging app, maybe I will need to create one
-Concerned about battery life

So I am kinda torn, I am so unbelievably sick of the TP 2's slowness for average tasks, but I don't want to give up the flexibility of winmo. I will miss easy wifi tethering, I will miss the hardware keyboard. I hope the speaker isn't crappy...

Probably never going to buy an on-contract phone again as I feel like I made a major mistake when I went to Best Buy first thing in the morning to get my Touch Pro almost two years ago now.

Same problem here, Have the TP2 and just bought the Incredible. Need to see what the fuss is about. So far I have found more shortfalls than gains but still like the whole layout and setup. I will give it a few weeks and decide if I will keep it.

The screen rotation for me takes no more than a second at most, most of the time it is even less than that. Battery life I would say is on par with the TP2, after having the phone for almost a week, that is the best statement about the battery I can give.

I am going to assume that you took pictures of the Incredible with your TP2.

Re: TP2 to Incredible (pics) (video link in 1st post)

So, can any actual Incredible users confirm the rumor of it being 600mhz instead of 1ghz?
Are they down-clocking for battery savings?

I too am torn on WinMo and Android. Have Android running on tp2 but would like the faster chip/more ram/memory internal.

But not sure if I can give up WinMo....been on that train so long on sure if I know where the exit is at....

Its not running at 600Mhz, thats the new LG Ally coming out soon. This thing is definitely running at 1Ghz. Ans as i feel the battery life is on par with the tp2, if not better, but thats my opinion with how much i use the phone. Trust me, go into a store and play with the incredible, only if you want to buy it lol. After playing with it and just the quickness & responsiveness compared to the tp2, there was no turning back.

You're just mad that you bought the hype for the MotoDroid and didn't wait it out for the snapdragon phones that were already coming out...

Weird. I still dunno if I'd do that personally. I'd rather get a new battery atleast, or an extended one that I will probably end up purchasing.

What specs is that? I don't remember seeing any limitations on resolution, but I don't sit here and read every month old "news" stories that are posted.

They're talking ATT, but I'm hoping for a CDMA version.

I just forgot about that LG Ally and it's stupid keyboard with the spacebar inthe middle of the letters.
That was rumored a LONG time ago.
I was thinking about waiting for that, but I didn't really like the design. Not to mention it's on ATT....
That's just hell and why would you want to subject yourself to such a thing.

I'm personally going to keep it for those few things that Android does not offer...And probably for rom cooking and messing with AutoHotkeyCE.
I sure hope someone ports AutoHotkeyCE to Android.
Cant be too hard since they're using a version of AutoHotkey that is ported to work on Linux.

I was expecting screen rotation to "just work." It was in the browser, with no page open yet. I had the keyboard already open. I turned the phone to landscape and waited, it didn't switch. I figured it wouldn't automatically do it without turning it on or something, so I turned it back, and while I was, it switched to landscape then back. Even turning it to landscape again took a little over two full seconds for it to rotate again.

I was really unimpressed -- turned away even, because this slowness is a bit more acceptable on the TP2 because you can force landscape by sliding the keyboard out. On a device where the only way to switch it is to wait on it, it feels like nonsense.

I'll have to go spend some more time with it.
