IMHO, this might be the case 99% of the time, but they might be in the wrong if they somehow give the employee a "reasonable expectatiion of privacy" by doing, saying, and/or not doing something. If they knowing let the employee use it for personal calls and don't somehow give the employee notice that the calls are recorded, then we might talking about a Wiretap Statute Violation (Federal and/or State). That would be a Felony, and grounds for civil liability.

Depends on the type of company or how perinoid the company is. You never know if someone before you stole clients, etc.

I was traveling between warehouses several years ago. The company asked if I wanted a company phone or they would give me a .25 raise to pay for my own. I took the quarter an hour and bought my first cell phone.
