you specifically said as a ppcgeek, you wanted the feature to work. I don't think it is a feature of the phone due to lack of hardware. Considering what the guys on here can do with sense (maxmanila, cookie 1. and mobile shell with mobile sense, I think it would have been "unlocked" by now if it was possible.

I said that we as a community want the feature to work. I did not address how easy or hard it might be to do so, as that is well out of my purview.

Last I heard, it was found to be a hardware limitation. Someone was able to get a very weak signal from the FM radio by smearing conductive paste on on the board to connect various unused contacts. I think it's great that someone is pursuing this again, but I doubt it will be solved with just software.

It's probably the PCB trace that runs to the antenna terminal that could be missing. Hell, if I could get a detailed schematic of all the pins going to the BT chip, I could tell whether or not it were connected.

Lets pour some ice on this thread and let everyone just calm down. From what I saw in previous threads bout this everyone pointed their finger at everyone else. Most gave up on the project. I never recall a conclusion.

So far, we have every one in here saying "... I HERD it was a hardware issue". I read the old thread weekly on it up until about a month ago when my tp2 broke. Now that it is fixed. I am on here again. So if i missed the.. "Its a DEFINITE hardware issue" then I apologize.
Seriously tho. Calm down if people want to try let them. I will help anyway I can if need be.

I think we should start a bounty to the first person that kills the idea of fm working on sprint. Not happening due to lack of hardware.
