at pete111: care to share more details as to which method you used? (clear storage task 29) whether or not you installed lumos? if you flashed back to stock? if you used the clear storage method how many times you flashed? I fixed a friends phone a couple days ago and so far no complaints from her (it took 5 flashes though) at cica: congrats, glad you solved your problem. Re: A fix for the failure to wake/SOD, well for some!
I used both clear storage and task 29, lumos on both, stock rom and energy. It's got to be a hardware problem with mine since it's so much more severe than most others (almost immediately after hard reset).

Re: A fix for the failure to wake/SOD, well for some!
SOD is a real pain especially when you really need to use it at that moment. after upgrading to 6.5 i never had any problems with it until i installed a clean up cab. after that i've deal with that problem for weeks not knowing that the cab i installed was the problem. even when i remove the cab it still have that affect. thanks to task29 it wiped out my phone clean. installed the ROM of my choosing and i was good to go. though the fact still remains you will still get the SOD on 6.5 (because it never happened on the 6.1) only when your phone starts up or when its still booting once your phone goes to sleep during that time you will have SOD. just let your phone boot and fully running and that problem will go away. if not then it has to be one of the cabs you install which makes your phone break and will mess up your phone's system like a virus. If all else fails use the task29 again and start over. It's never the hardware it's what you do to tweak or fix up your phone!

For me, it was my Ext-USB connector. Just "wiggle" a usb cord around in there and see if yours wakes up after a few power button presses. Works for me.

Re: A fix for the failure to wake/SOD, well for some!
Or this could be caused by the Flex Cable. I work in a Preferred Retailer repair center for Sprint, along with mjh & the Flex cable is available for us to order as a replenishable part from our parts depot, which normally does not have any decent parts. lol.
EDIT: This was the reason my Touch Pro2 was having the SOD issue, and once I replaced my flex cable, I have not had any SOD issues as of yet...just a bad microphone, lol.

amazing that so many people seem to have issue with SOD but Sprint Advanced Support says they never have heard about it...uite typical, from my past experiences.

Yea, Ive tried everything. Task 29, Sprint Lovers Rom, Stock Rom, Relocked, Unlocked, Mighty, Clear Storage like 15 times. SD card out/in. SIM card out and In.
I was using the stock 6.5 rom for about a month when this problem just started happening. Def a hardware issue. Never dropped my phone or anything. Lets go EVO!
