Re: Is sprint deliberately setting TP2 users up void warranty?
Both of my body and my battery tabs have little red crisscross marks on them since the day I bought them. Now I never paid attention to these, so is that normal, or does that claim moisture exposure?

Funny you say that. That battery is for a TP1 and the battery works perfect, but ya don't let sprint see that sticker activated. As soon as they see it (CS rep) they will flag your account. The only way to get around that is.... Take it to a repair center have them tear apart the phone and look for water damage. If you don't have any, have them document it in your account that there is NO water damage to your phone. Then ask them for a print out (your own personal hard copy) just to C.Y.A. Then you can get it replaced without having to pay for it....... if the sticker is activated. |

These people with red moisture indicators are either careless with their phone or got it wet and don't remember/know how. Either way, I really don't see why people feel like Sprint should be responsible for their own irresponsibility with a piece of electronics. I seriously don't think its too much to ask that people be careful with their device. Helpful Tips: <-- stuff that SHOULD be common sense 1) DO NOT pull the cover off your phone with wet/sweaty hands to the point that you'd turn the indicators red 2) In the event that you do remove the back cover simply DO NOT touch the stickers 3) DO NOT talk on your phone in the rain/drizzle/sleet/snow/ice/shower/bathroom/sauna 4) DO NOT just set your phone down on a surface before checking to be sure that its not wet. (I am willing to bet money that this is the #1 cause of the belligerent people who SWEAR they never got the phone wet.)

Do you honestly believe that any electronics manufacturer on the planet should sell a $600 "MOBILE" device that isn't allowed to be used outside on a rainy day or in a bathroom after a shower? What the hell are you talking about? That's like saying that someone can sell a car that can't be left out in the sun or you void your paint warranty. You clearly have a definitively biased opinion that shows no consideration for business ethics. Furthermore, most of these postings are complaints about a failed water damage indicator on a WORKING phone!! Are you suggesting that an electronics manufacturer should be allowed to void a warranty on a WORKING device because a sticker SUGGESTS possible damage?! To have a device that can no longer be warrantied down the road because it is already voided BEFORE it has a problem is a complete violation of any reasonable quality and support expectation of a consumer when purchasing such an expensive product from such a well-established industry leader. Most of the complaints here are in regards to the placement of the sticker, not the sticker system itself. If the stickers being used were on the inside of the phone, then the manufacturer's arguments might "hold water" (pun intended), as there likely would be ACTUAL damage to the phone in the case where a motherboard sticker shows past water presence. Re: Is sprint deliberately setting TP2 users up void warranty?
my phone was replaced just the other day because of the touchscreen not working. I had the oily look to the screen and the sticker on the side was red but the other one at the bottom wasn't. I wasn't in the store but 5 minutes before I had my new phone in hand, no questions asked. guess I just got lucky?
