Re: Opera keeps closing

yes, taskmanager is the cause of this issue... to turn off autokill, get a registry editor and go to:
HKCU/Software/HTC/TaskManager/ "Enable Autokill"
cange the value from "1" to "0"
1 = enable
0 = disable

let me know if it solves the issue for you, and dont forget to hit thanks

Thanks for your quick response, but sorry, it is already set to 0, and it's still doing it. I've been trying it all morning and various applications get closed. I'll open up 3 apps at a time and 10 minutes later only 1 is still open, etc...

Re: Opera keeps closing

well, if you are close to 100%, something has to close. what all apps do you have installed? sense, internet browsers, etc are all memory hogs... and actually, there really is probably not too much that can be done about this due to the tp2's processor (not enough ram)... to me, the processor is the only thing holding the tp2 back. its still a cool phone and all but there are now fones out there with 1GHz processors... the tp2 is still the best htc winmo phone w/slide out qwerty so me and wait for the tp3 or whatever its going to be called.

Re: Opera keeps closing

not that close to 100% and like i said, i disabled autokill. something's not working the way it should. i've been monitoring memory and not doing anything with the phone when it closes.

Re: Opera keeps closing

Have you tried "empty cache on exit"? Type opera:config in the address bar. That will take you to the Prefences Editor. Click on Disk Cache. Check the "Empty On Exit" box and save. That might help your problem. I have my Opera 10 set up to do this and haven't had any of the problems on this thread.

I'm using 6.5 build 23563 and loving it!!!

no offense to u or those that love opera 5 but it sux ... i use my tp2 for 99% of my lifes web browsing & there are many issues that opera 5 has ... while it is fast i give u that, at times if i click a link it acts as if it wasnt. if i enter a long string of characters be it in a forum setting, facebook or whatever it either disappears after i click reply or b4 total p.i.t.a. i also cant copy or paste when i tap & hold the pop up screen with tthe options dontt stay unless i leave my finger pressing on the screen. also a p.i.t.a ... if ur running a version that dont do the 3 things i mentioned, didnt state all . please pass a cab along or name the build. ........ but back to the topic of the thread my opera closes itself alot & it will when its the only thing running. also a p.i.t.a
