Did a test with my phone locked (Stock ROM) to a different tower ... 1000 kbps
Unlocked (Stock ROM) my phone ... 232 kbps

I know the ram used would have some affect but ... I have more free on the ROM that I cooked

Im lost
weird...maybe the unlocked bootloader is a different version then the locked one and in the revision it did some minor change on how radio locates towers idk :/

Try updating the PRL..if not try flashing a different Radio.

Its hard to suggest cause each radio works different for everyone..it depends on your location and provider..you kinda have to try them out..start with the verizon ones and if they don't help try other provider radios.
