as far as the checkerboard for skyfire
is it possible that there lacks a graphic accelerated specific version for high end devices?

Yeah i'm not going to argue with you guys, browsing on android is 10x better then browsing on winmo. Correct the processor does have something to do with it, but the features that androids browser gives vs what opera gives you is not a comparison. the hd2 is a fine piece of hardware, but web browsing on hd2 vs evo is not going to be the same.

Maybe thats possible. I only use skyfire for videos like ufc fights, so regardless of the checked board it plays video extremely well...

Actually the best browser on my TP2 is the 2.1 android browser when Im running xandroid . Love how well it handles all pages including gmail and google reader. I wouldnt say its 10x better, but maybe 2x

thanks for proving my point about android 2.1 browser being better but only by 2x, once you have an actual android built device that web browser only gets better once you tie in the hardware as well. hardware and fully functional OS will make a difference as well.

Re: Goodbye TP2

I abhor the clunky 2.1 web browser and switch to third party ASAP!!!
its okay with some improvements but netfront (one of the god awful browsers of winmo) is better
I forget the name of the browser I like though

if you're talking about android, its probably the dolphin browser. Thats the browser with the highest rating.

Re: Goodbye TP2

I use Dolphin on all three of my Android phones. I like the "Heat" add on for it as well

Interesting I will try Dolphin then. The android 2.1 is faster than any winmo browser with the possible exception of opera mini. It renders pages exceptionally well, esp. since I use my phone for rss feeds / google reader. But if dolphins free I shall check it out.
