Battery life has been great so far on the new sprint rom....The radio seems to work better as well.

Re: Generally Speaking, WinMo 6.5 Drains More Battery Than 6.1?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here but judging battery life is very subjective. I attribute a lot of the complaints to new rom = more display time = shorter battery life perception. Except for the terminal flashers anyone who's had 6.1 for several months and then switches to the Sprint 6.5 for example is going to be looking at it a lot more and playing with new features and just taking longer to do stuff they knew how to do automatically before. Thus battery life seems shorter.
If you go to the rest room and there's no toilet paper but theres a bidet I bet it might take a little longer to get back to work!!!!

don't know but my hunch is that it is now easier to keep a bunch of background processes running due to how the task manager has changed?

I agree with what everyone is saying but i barely spent anytime on stock at all. Within the hour i had purchased the phone i had already done all my reading on switching to a custom ROM so i am not comparing the custom to stock...i am just comparing the lifespan i have with the phone itself. In the beginning it was fine...now as time has passed(and i am not a harcore flasher either) battery life just seems horrible.

Re: Generally Speaking, WinMo 6.5 Drains More Battery Than 6.1?

I think the battery life on 6.5 is definetely less than 6.1, i use my phone for business all day long, calls, text, email. so with all my normal things running that i used to have run, I'm looking at putting my phone to charge 6 hours from the time i take it off the charger instead of almost a full day on 6.1. Has anyone found any regedits or cabs to extend battery life yet?

Re: Generally Speaking, WinMo 6.5 Drains More Battery Than 6.1?

I thought that the lower battery life on my Stock 6.5 was because I was busy exploring the various options available on it, but I charged it completely and took it off the charger at about 9pm last night (wifi/gps etc were off - and soft reset it). Battery showed 100%.
By 6am this morning, the battery was showing 90% - by 9am, it was at 80% (no phonecalls/no text/no Email /no usage during this time).

Not sure if this is normal... (I don't think 6.1 seemed to discharge this fast)

Re: Generally Speaking, WinMo 6.5 Drains More Battery Than 6.1?

Too early to say for me.
Been spending too much time plugged in trying to tweak it.

Will now stream some pr0n & see what it's like.
The discharge rate on my 6.1 Sprint stock OS was impressive.
Off the overnite plug @ 8am till leaving the office with my average amount texts, emails, streaming pr0n, music & voice calls - I still have 70% left @ 6PM.

But as we all know, the hardware didn't but the 6.5 got beefier.
So something has got to give.

Re: Generally Speaking, WinMo 6.5 Drains More Battery Than 6.1?

I could be considered one of those "terminal flashers" as someone mentioned above. Proud of it to btw. LOL. After trying almost every ROM available and some several times I concur with the title of this thread. I absolutely have noticably better battery life with 6.1 over 6.5. No doubt in my mind.
Also,
I have 129mb RAM on boot with 6.1 and 92mb with 6.5.No sense or tf3d enabled on either. 6.1 is way quicker also.No wonder with that much extra RAM available. Everybody has diff experiences in their own usage, but count me as convinced. my $.02
