how to usb tether on sprints 6.5 stock rom
 

this is quaranteed to work on a stock 6.5 sprint rom.

how do I know I posted this from it.

my phone has never been unlocked


1 - install - ICS_and_WModem_Fix cab

2 - using a regedit program

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
Extension="" Delete the "isext.dll" entry

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="Sprint"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
MaxCMCon=0

[HKLM\Services\CMGuaridan]
Flags = 4 (it's a DWORD Value. if it doesn't exist. you need to create it)

3 - soft reset
4 - Start the Internet Sharing application.
5 - Select Sprint under type of connection.
6 - Hit Connect In the Internet Sharing application.
7 - Connect to the Laptop/PC via USB
8 - Done. No other applications needs to run on the PC/Laptop.

the ics fix adds the shortcut to the start menu since there isnt one in settings

I also disable HTC Touch flo

I use it to link to my MS 3.5 so its just a click away.

I did not install the ICS fix - instead I used the stock "Internet Sharing" app in the tools folder
Also I had to add 2 registry settings- the MaxCMCon=0 and the Flag=4
On the 6.1 rom I only had to add the flag setting- was this everyone elses experience?
Interestingly I no longer have to establish an internet connection before hitting connect with ICS- no more error 67!

i used the cab with no reg edits.

i did notice that there were two internet sharing applications (one in home and another in home->tools). i used the first one and selected Sprint as network connection (should give option of Phone as Modem and Sprint).

What reg editor can i use and where are the reg settings at that I have to edit? Nevermind...I found the answer...should have read the whole post....my bad

I did exactly what you said, verbatim.
I have "<none>" in my Network Connection dropdown menu.
I edited everything with PHM regedit, and I noticed that all the settings were already the way you said to change them to.(?)
This is after a hard reset and Sprint Cleanup for 6.5.
Data connection works with Opera, Google Maps & weather.

something was done wrong, as i have yet to not get it to work . and I have hard reset alot of times the stock 6.5

use the regediter and make sure you do all 4 reg settings before rebooting.
