This was working great for me for about a month. but then suddenly today, when i go to try to use it, under "Network Connection" where it used to say "Sprint" now it says "<none>" and in the dropdown menu there is no other options.

any ideas?

BooBoo, how do I add:

[HKLM\Services\CMGuaridan]
Flags = 4 (it's a DWORD Value. if it doesn't exist. you need to create it)

I don't have [HKLM\...] in my registry. Do I add it as a DWORD under one of the other folders such as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_USERS? I don't seem to be able to add it directly under My Device

Usually, HKLM means HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, so I'd guess he meant HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\CMGuaridan

Same here! Any thoughts?

EDIT: It looks like I can connect if I choose "phone as modem" instead of "ActiveSync" when I first attach the USB cord. Is this safe to do, since I've made the reg edits to use Sprint instead of Phone as Modem when connecting?

Either way, I'd definitely prefer to figure out how to make the old way work.

yes as long as it's by USB it should be undetected.
