I don't agree with you regarding the amount of time. Stripping the DRM is a hassle, and it prevents you from dragging and dropping RTG tracks onto your phone from any computer. I used to drop RTG tracks onto my phone from my computer at work; I'm not going to strip DRM there.

There has to be a way to make this work. That's what we're looking for.

how so? renting music is a waste, because you can only listen to it on your mp3 player or phone. buy the tracks, and they're yours, you can then make cd's and take it anywhere!

Not sure what your doing, download the song, run the program to strip the drm headers and then import into itunes. After that you can simply copy it to the MicroSDcard. It only takes a minute or two. Peeps who think this takes a long time are on weed or are using a garbage method to do this. Anyways good luck. I will not post the proggy I use.

Peace!

Interesting. Maybe Tunebite isn't the way to go.

Either way, this thread has devolved into a "why use Rhapsody" thread, which is of no interest to me. Considering that the Rhapsody offline storage iPhone app came out today, Android's is coming out in a few months, and WP7 will have the same capabilities but for Zune, I've lost interest in this pursuit.

I still don't see why this should be so difficult to get onto a custom ROM, but it's clearly not going to happen. Thanks to everyone who substantively added to this conversation.

Re: [Bounty] Rhapsody To Go: The Time Has Come

What I would really like is the ability to use my rhapsody subscription on my TP2. Not necessarily transferring "rhapsody to go" tracks, but literally being able to search and stream the entire catalog wherever I am. I played with the rhapsody app on my wife's android phone (samsung moment) and it was probably the only time I was truly "jealous" that I do not have an android phone. From everything I have read, it seems like WM is not going to get a rhapsody app . Anyone heard differently?

You're right. Rhapsody has no plans to make a WM app. From a Rhapsody employee himself:

Hi BlkScorpion,

Our top priorities for mobile remain iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry (RIM). Although Windows Mobile is of course not impossible, we are not actively at work on an app. Hope to have more news on this later this year.

Thanks for the feedback,
Chris

Because it wasn't created by "Real Player"; Rhapsody/Listen.com was acquired by Real Networks in 2003, and then spun off as its own company just recently.

You can't fault a perfectly fine product because Real Networks infused it with cash.
