Re: Calls kill navigation - Sprint TP2 stock ROM

So, even with the Garmin software there are no voice prompts or on-screen updates while you are on a call? That would still be a deal-breaker.

But thanks for all the good info on this, everyone.

When you answer a call the dialer comes to the foreground. So you just have to bring garmin xt back up and the maps keep updating during the call

with garmin you can still use the gps and map features all you have to do is x out of the dialer app...this can be done without exiting the call...the only thing that wont work obviously is voice prompts...its designed not to interrupt your call. If gps is really that important to you along with talking while driving i would suggest getting a stand alone gps for cheap on craigslist.

Re: Calls kill navigation - Sprint TP2 stock ROM

I use CoPilot with no issues (because all the maps are on the device like Garmin).

Re: Calls kill navigation - Sprint TP2 stock ROM

OK, thanks for the clarification on that point. I guess I'll just have to start digging in to research the software available, vs. a good stand-alone.

Thanks again for all the help!

I am sorry that this gets a little off topic for this thread, but how are you mounting the TP2 to the bike? I have been looking for a good way to use the TP2 with my motorcycle.... Would like to mount it somehow, and get power from the bike as well. Just looking for some experience ideas!!!

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Calls kill navigation - Sprint TP2 stock ROM

I also think the idea of a stand-alone is a good way to go. The reason is that when I was looking at getting a program such IGo, IGuidance etc it seems the manufacturer wants to sell you thier microsd card with the program loaded.

While this is probably a better way to make sure thier program isn't freely distributed, the size of thier cards leaves a lot to be desired (the biggest card I could find was only 8gb and I'm running 16). I know there are posts on how to get this to a bigger card but I don't have the time to try and move everything over and hope it works the first time.

Good Luck

Be carfeful with IGo if you're using Kaspersky Mobile Security. There have been issues with compatibility when I was beta testing KMS9. I don't remember is the issues were fixed before the official KMS9 release (KMS9 MP1 is supposed to be tested in May).
