No stick in my ass, I assure you. But it sure came across like he was OWED something, as if he had paid for it.

Re: Dr. Squishy reviews Energy ROM, Mighty ROM

PUNCH LOLZ!

First and foremost let me say that was a great read. Seriously, thanks for the lawlz Doc.

Now....
I can only respond to your statements with my experience using NRGz ROMs since the day it hit hotfile. Yes, hotfile apparently people hate it. NRG doesn't want public mirrors of it posted on megaupload or rapidshare, fair enough. I get great speeds off of it no matter what state (zip code, not sober/drunk/tired/happy/ruffied) I'm in, so I don't understand why it's so evil. NRG has several fixes you need to run out of the box, yes. Is it his fault that Verizon, Sprint, Cricket and other cell providers decided to use different layouts on the physical keys for their hardware keyboard? Absolutely not, so there's no way around that one for him. the whole .nbh thing, yeah, that was annoying, for all parties involved, trust me. I've posted in the past re: the other regular posters flaming someone for a question that has been posted at least 150 times before that it is just as easy to copy and paste their previous reply as it is to flame them. However the fact of the matter is when you as a question that was already asked and answered on the same page and (seriously, look) at least once on the previous 20+ pages, eventually people are going to get sick and tired of being nice. The search feature is not there to look pretty. In fact it is an important feature of all major bulletin boards for a reason. That reason? To use. Getting flamed for not (at least trying) to stand on your own two feet will happen anywhere.

Since we're going on with car examples.
Ask someone how to roll down windows, unlock a car or how to sit down in one and you'll get laughed at and teased just the same.

I'm not saying it's acceptable, justified, needed, necessary or without merit or unexpected. It just is.

One thing that has always baffled me about NRG ROMs is fix A will work for persons A, C and D but not for person B. I don't know, the same fixes have always worked for me and I don't expect that to change. I do though acknowledge that the only reason I know this is because I informed myself and have read every post in that thread.

I read consumer reports, blogs, talked with car enthusiasts and sales people. I have decided to go with a Bugatti Veyron (even though driving it eats all my gas) instead of the Moskvitch that was issued to me (stock ROM).

I personally wouldn't have called this a review, no offense. No matter how funny it was (and it was), your post was nothing more than a rant with a dash of b1tching at others for not holding your hand for no reimbursement.

If I get bored tonight I'll flash one of the older builds of Energy Leo and dump the finger menus enable/disable hacks for you, others might want it too...

inda's not as helpful as he used to be. read some of his replys on his rom pages.
I asked for help for email trouble i was having, he told me, it worked for him.
someone asked about a working sprint TV (since he calls his ROMs sprint ROMs) and his reply was that he didn't use it so he didn't care.
I guess the cooks kind of burn out after a while. I would be using his ROM but I couldn't get the email to work so now I'm using Mal's ROM titanium only with Mobile shell.

Mighty himself says that his love war and impact roms are projects and are buggy. he's very upfront about it.

but I'm with the op, i'm not flashing any rom that I have to fix phone essential immediately. that includes calls, messaging and internet. everything else I can deal with, but the phone should be able to handle those things.

question for you serious custom ROM people. How come some of the ROMs have working mms, sms, picture right of the the box, but the others can't get that to work? just curious, is it because of something carrier specific or is there more to it?

Hmm, this started off light and funny but did it take the biggest down turn a few post in...well if you didn't know what you were getting into when you purchase a WinMo device, lol.

Re: Dr. Squishy reviews Energy ROM, Mighty ROM

and to all of those who bash noob's for asking questions that have been asked over and over again: GET OVER IT!!!
yes there is a search function. I've had very little luck using it, unless i know exactly what I was looking for. I end up getting 50 threads from the cooked ROM section and maybe a couple more of real value. it can be difficult. I do my best to google search to narrow done what I am looking for, but sometimes I still can't find it. and i'm pretty sure I'm past noob stage on this forum.
So give the people with a few posts a break. they are just trying to find info.

bump... I hate being flamed, justified or not... maybe we should all chip in for a better search option? I love Mal's rom, it just works I get tempted by all the other UIs but nothing compares to how smooth and efficient Titanium can be (with a few tweaks to make it your own of course).

Use the option to display the results as posts, not threads. Works like a charm.
