HELP, I loaded a new cab and now my TP2

A cat???? hmmmmmm, never thought of using one of them... I'm gonna have to keep that one in my bag of tricks.... glad it got resolved and you're getting new ones. But answer the big question... what the hell did you load that caused the issue? Was it a ROM upgrade or was it actually a cab that started the whole issue?

I highly doubt it is a problem with verizon new rom update. I have never heard of any other users with the same problem. I think it was something you installed on the phone. Reps are pretty useless expect for sending out new phones.

Bet it was the new Swype. There's a thread here on how it will mess up your phone.

It really came to a head after i loaded Landscape BG4all_Dual Clocks BUT the incosistent operation, lockups with backlight off problem began after the verizion upgrade. I just di another hard reset yesterday and now the weather tab wont let me delete New York and insists that I am there.

haha. Agreed.
Except for when I worked for Apple...I actually got the customers' problems handled/fix/compensated for. It actually made my job that much more enjoying versus the 1-2 months that I felt like quiting and didn't do a single thing but BS the customers. heh. But they would still call back and request me.

Thats what you get for using the stock rom.

When you said it wouldn't connect to the computer...did you try putting your phone into bootloader mode? (Power+VolDown+Reset if phone is on, or just power+voldown when it was shut off)
If not, that would have solved your not being able to connect problem.

Oh. BTW my wife's virgin 6.5 upgrade phone has the lockup issue as well. with nothing else installed on it at all.

Try flashing the phone again, then do a Hard reset (VolDown+Send+End, ad a reset in there if phone is on), and then go to start>settings>system>clear storage.

Sometimes during flash (especially when using slower/Older PCs or running any other programs) there can be problems that occur with the nand memory, the above process is lengthy, and can be over kill if no problems occurred. But the only real way to know if the problems occurred or not, is well wait for them to happen.

I've never really heard many problems about the stock roms though, although I'm not on this forum much anymore.
I personally use the process everytime I flash a custom rom.....I would try the process I mentioned and see if it helps her phone out.

Thanks for all the help. now waiting for Verizon to get some in stock, after a few more resets it seems to have stabilized.
