Re: What to get instead of the TP2?
Hahaha it is a whine. And a sad one at that hahaha. I've tried to get a new one instead of refurb, but Verizon keeps pushing the "like new" line in my face. "Like new" means a refurb thats had problems before. I'm holding out on my insurance policy until something with snapdragon comes to Verizon, then I'll get that. But until then, I'll continue using my TP2 when it works. When it works, it's a truly amazing device, but when problems come up, they ruin it

try the samsung intrepid, i have one myself and is rock solid, you don't have to worry about failing sliding mechanism. battery is fantastic close to 2 days of use, u also get both gps and wifi... and for me it feel nice in ur hand
but (there always a but) u dont get the big screen, resolution, spacious keyboard, speaker quality... |

If you are with sprint.. They have the Samsung moment which is Android and does come out with a sliding keyboard, htc hero. You have options it all comes down to what you like or prefer. I had in the past 3 TP1 and now TP2 but like all Windows phone it comes with issues. To me I like this phone, It's just fun to customize and fix issue (maybe because I have issue) LOL. GL though.

id stick with the tp2 unless there's some kind of defect. don't bother buying anything else sprint has to offer right now. within a few months we will start seeing much more powerful devices! although i don't see sprint introducing a new slideout kb winmo phone until windows phone 7 series... htc supersonic is the one to look for if youre into android..

Re: What to get instead of the TP2?
I had a Treo Pro before I decide to pay all this money for a Touch Pro 2. I HAVE the Pre, returned a Moment and a Hero within the last 2 months. The droid phones just didnt do it for me..They seemed almost toy like. the Treo Pro was the snappiest and longest battery lasting windows phone that I used. My only issue was the screen not being big enough and I like the sliding keyboard as well. Sometimes I wish they could replace the guts from the Treo Pro to the tp2's actually because it was just that good.
The Pre's screen looks better, sharper aside, internet is faster and a great phone but too small for my taste. The Touch Pro 2's cam cannot compete with their camera and the video (coming in a few days) is amazing with the option to load video straight to Youtube along with the Linux based platform and "ez" multi-tasking I miss at times... Still not enough to keep it active on my main line. My touch pro 2 is a machine. I plugged it in to my plasma TV just a few days ago in front of some company..The video wasnt great but just the principle that a phone can do this along with all the other zillion cabs I have.It allows you to customize so much which is important. Cant really think of much they dont have a cab for. Which is what I felt I was missing with the other phones. Customizing the actual phone is important not just the gimmicks of apps offered with the others. I'd stick it out until a upgraded faster version with better features comes out. I'm hoping the 6.5 release for Sprint drops soon and helps along with the Adobe Flash. |
