Re: Shattered my screen :(
Wow, that really sucks. Is there any way to just replace the screen? I'm sure it's not cheap but must be cheaper than replacing the entire phone.

Re: Shattered my screen :(
I looked around around found I could buy just the LCD screen but finding a professional to put it in would be impossible. I really have no choice but to buy a new one since I cant get insurance..its been over 30 days since I had the phone. Wish I was smart and got it in the first place..wasnt thinking tho..

Re: Shattered my screen :(
If you've got nothing to loose, then just search ebay for a replacement screen for TP2 and try to replace it yourself. There are probably videos available on how to take one apart.

Re: Shattered my screen :(
Try a search on youtube. I replaced my brother's on his iphone and it was fairly simple after watching the video.

Re: Shattered my screen :(
A quick search came up with this http://www.ppctechs.com/HTC-Touch-Pr...e_1547-373.htm but I've never heard anything about them. And the price is a little steep, but if you can't/won't do it yourself, it may be cheaper than buying a new phone outright.
Edit: And when you get it fixed or get a new one, definitely invest in a case!! Last edited by fishingmedic; 02-21-2010 at 09:54 PM. |

Re: Shattered my screen :(
they sell the digitizers on ebay for most touch phones pretty cheap. the link fishingmedic posted says it needs to be replaced with the lcd. i think that's bullshit. if you have the little plastic separating tools you should be able to do it with out replacing the lcd
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-Touch-Pro2-P...item1c0b8659e5 http://cgi.ebay.com/7-PLASTIC-PRY-TO...item4a9e8e89a6 unless you are clueless when it comes to taking stuff apart and putting it back together it shouldn't be much trouble. i have taken apart many cell phones it's easy just take your time and pay attention to what order you are doing things so you can reverse it putting everything back together Last edited by nasa1303; 02-21-2010 at 10:00 PM. |
