Vista/7 have a similar feature that will allow you to format a corrupt card. Of course, you lose all of your data. On another note, I would never put a ringtone (or a critical program)on the card. In the old days, the card would sometimes "disappear" which could lock up the PDA/phone if the OS needed the files on the card to run.

Perhaps cremation is a better option, especially if it contains questionable items...
