Re: Did Sprint cancel "Phone as Modem" services altogether?
Ah once again revisited in February 14th 2010. Isn't that V-Day? It's 4/28 and I just ordered the HTC Touch Pro through an auction site, got it in the mail yesterday. Called today to transfer my Blackberry over to this new(old) phone, and I have had phone as modem for 15 a month since I started my contract with Sprint. The rep puts me on hold, comes back to say that she can't get the phone as modem on the new phone. I'm like what!?! This can't be happening. I'm like just add the data plan to my account and shut off the Blackberry plan. The reply is, "Sir, the phone as modem is added to the Blackberry data plan, and if it's removed, you lose it." I'm posting this on f my life.

Re: Did Sprint cancel "Phone as Modem" services altogether?
To make matters worse, I have grown to hate my Blackberry and really want to get my hands on that HTC Evo 4g coming out this summer. IT supports up to 8 connected devices. When my call was escilated to advanced technical support, that support person told me that phone as modem would never be put back in place unless it is grandfathered in. That even the new HTC Evo won't have the option. SOunds to me like Sprint may have plans to criple that phone, to force customers to pay the 60 a month for an air card. And that's exactly what I was offered to have for here on out. Give me an air card for 15 a month, Sprint csrs
I was also told that to keep the phone as modem, I could however upgrade to a new Blackberry device. I hate Blackberry. Last edited by stlcraft; 04-28-2010 at 11:11 PM. |

It has not been canceled and you should check your registry because the WMRouter is messing up the registry. Use the HTC wifi router and you get the same for free and your registry stays clean |

i quit using wmrouter for that problem. had to hard reset twice. opera would work and so would pie, but skyfire and tethering would not. |

Re: Did Sprint cancel "Phone as Modem" services altogether?
My friend uses this everyday and always complains about the connection having to be re-established every 2-3 minutes with both tethering and wifi. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
