I believe that the "World Editions" are still technically CDMA phones, just with a GSM "backup" so it can work anywhere in the world (hence the name). So you will still need to use the CDMA ROMs/Kitchens with the Verizon and Sprint TP2s. I think it has something to do with the way the bootloaders differ between the World Editions and the GSM only editions.

If your not up until November, I'd be looking for the Touch Pro3 or whatever comes next. The TP2 will have been out for over a year at that point.
Everyone will be making Windows 7 roms by then. |
