Wirelessly posted (HTC Touch Pro 2 (Sprint): Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

in my opinion drilling the hole is probably the best solution as there is times if the phones locked up no input even works & i end up having to remove the cover anways. again, using quaint & having long press of send key reboots me otherwise & is ever so simple.

Use this as well. Works great! I passed on the whole drilling the back cover. App works just fine.

Re: Best free program for soft resets??

shutxp is great !!! i uninstalled reboot! after realizing that sometimes the phone is not able to respond quickly to touch input so psshutxp is awesome because it is mapped to the power button and gives you options. i would highly recommend it ! http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=65178

Re: Best free program for soft resets??

I just use smaberg's actionscreen.

Why install a separate program when that has the functionality built in? Just hold down power, hit soft reset!

Yea, I agree that works the best.

It is not hard to do at all if you're careful.

I didn't actually drill the hole, I just used the tip of a super sharp paring knife to make a hole in both the original battery cover & my Seidio Innocase.

If you didn't know better, to look at it you would think it came that way from the factory (which it should have anyway)

Although I do have the XDA app mapped to my red phone button with the Rhodium KB driver, I still find myself rebooting with the stylus at times just out of habit (I must have done it that way 1000 times with my old xv6800).

All the software reboot apps do basically the same thing, but I have tried them all & the XDA one is significantly faster to react than the slide to shutdown app (there are some really awesome skins for the XDA setup also)

I also think making a hole is the best idea. I just used a heated pushpin. Super smooth looking and very easy.

Don't have to close any apps or anything. I don't even look at my phone, because I feel the vibration and know I'm set. Link below:

Post #16 is GSM, post #18 is CDMA.

I say try them all out, and see which you like best. Good luck.
Unless I'm missing something the Rhodium Keyboard Controller does not have a reset option built in that you can map to a key. A lot of responses in this thread made mention of mapping a key to run their favourite soft reset app, and for that they are probably using the keyboard controller too (to map a key to that favourite app). But as far as I know there is no soft reset action built into the keyboard controller.

Also, a little off topic, but what's wrong with v1.4? It did have some issues when it was first released but they were resolved a long time ago. I find it rock solid.
