Re: visiting thailand, would TP2 with Mighty Rom work there?
I just got back from Thailand. Used my TP2 there fine. Bought local SIM cards by True. They have good data packages as well as cheap voice options. My phone is Verizon and I have the SIM unlocker installed.
Thailand was amazing! |

Amen. Been there before, even have 2 friends who work as tour guides out that way (local bastards). Never had a decent phone I wanted to bring with me before though. Good to know it's reasonable unlike our North American providers.

Re: visiting thailand, would TP2 with Mighty Rom work there?
I'm pretty sure the poor people in major cities in the US eat mice too. The difference is poverty isn't a "problem to be fixed" in Thailand like it is here. In Thailand poverty is just life for the vast majority of it's residents. But that doesn't mean they aren't warm, friendly people with a rich culture. And the landscapes...omg. 2 weeks scuba diving in pristine bays and a private hut right off the beach that hangs out over the water is cheaper than it would cost me to fill my car with gas. I realize travelling isn't for everyone, but that's no reason to knock a place. If you don't mind travelling, I don't see how you could not love Thailand.

Re: visiting thailand, would TP2 with Mighty Rom work there?
Thanks for all the informative responses. I am really excited about Thailand. IT great that data connection will work as well. Do I have to have certain special settings in teh phone itself as far as data goes or leave everything on default. Also, would my AC adapter work there? Are the plugs different? Im pretty sure they are different but just dont know what type.
Thanks again |

As far as electrical connections, as long as you are in a decent hotel you will be fine. Local sim prices are cheap. Even to call back to the states. Where are you going? I used AIS and DTAC without any issues?
