The phone is GSM Unlocked for Every Country Outside the United States
right out of the box. Nothing you need to do besides halting your sprint service if you want to reduce your bill.. But ya dont have to. Just come back to the States and the TP2 will pickup Sprint no problemo ![]() |

Re: visiting thailand, would TP2 with Mighty Rom work there?
Thanks for all the great input everyone. One Question I still have is about the data usage in Thailand. Say I get a sim card that has a certain data limit on it. How would I make sure that TP2 is not using data in the background without me knowing. I dont need weather updates etc or anyhting else that periodically gets on the internet to download data. All I need is data on demand like using google maps or looking something else. Is there a master setting that I can set and not worry about using up all my data.
Thanks |

Re: visiting thailand, would TP2 with Mighty Rom work there?
Just got back from my trip and wanted to update everyone. I ended up going to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and used different sim cards in those countries. The whole process was very simple, just plug the sim card in and restart the phone. It ran an auto setup at restart and worked great. In thailand I went with a Dtac card with voice and data on it. I got 50 hrs worth of unlimited internet coverage for 200 Baht ( $1=32 Baht). The coverage is great and it even worked on the islands. the internet speeds were not very good but it was fine for casual browsing and checking emails etc. I would highly recommend getting a data plan as I was able to us wifirouter to get internet acess almost everywhere. It came in handy while buying train tickets and making online reservations without having to go an internet cafe. I also got another local sim card while in Malaysia and then a different one in Singapore with data access.
Hope that helps someone out. |
