Re: Overclocking?
by no2chem 17. September 2009 14:25
On Overclocking I still haven’t been able to identify how to control the PLL properly. I need to look into Linux/Android code, where they apparently have the Kaiser running at 528MHz just fine. Again, once I figure this out, the tool will be updated. This is the last update from no2chem on the TP2 overclocking....

Re: Overclocking?
I was hoping to overclock my TP as I don't NEED it for anything so it wouldn't matter if I messed it up...the only tool no2chem has out (currently) is an underclocking bit of software.
Was he the one claiming to have the TP close to 800MHz?? Or was that someone else?

Re: Overclocking?
Yea he was the one, but as of today nothing has become of it and the issues have not been resolved for overclocking.

Re: Overclocking?
How is it that the Android build for the TP2 works just fine on many of the phones, but not a single WM6 build can be overclocked? It's the same processor, just that you are using another bootloader in WM, so shouldnt we be able to overclock it using something similar to Haret, without booting android?

Re: Overclocking?
well, i'm not that great of a low level programmer, but i'm assuming the linux bootup process probably includes something that writes to registers to set the speed and stuff... considering that you can program natively, you can probably also do the same for a windows mobile application...
just that no one has done it yet? it seems no2chem is definitely capable, and especially since it's done for the tp2 android already it should be easier with the slowness of wm, overclocking should help a lot for windows mobile (i used to have a 6700 overclocked cpu 400->600mhz, ram from 100->150mhz, bus 150->300 mhz, and it was blazing fast(particularly due to the ram and bus overclocking interestingly enough), it makes me sad that two generations of phones down and it's slower than it...) android runs decently only at 528 mhz |
