Battery draining, dont know why?

Do you have a green light on the phone in the morning? If not make sure your charger power cord is snapped into the charger, mine wasn't clicked together tight at first.

when i first picked up my tp2, the rep told me he went to settings- phone, and put it on cdma only to save battery life. not sure if its true but he said the phone randomly searches for gsm towers, especially if your in a bad area!

I figured out that when I charge my battery, and the light becomes green, I put the charger off and the put i on again.
The battery will charge again for 30 minutes or bit longer....

Since I do this, my battery will run for at least 2 days wihout charging!

And by the way: I only charge it, when the red light begins to blink...not earlier!

Think I figured it out. It turns out that under personal settings (i.e. bluetooth, wifi, data etc...) I had the Data setting turned "ON". We figured this out (me and another Sprint rep) by going back into the "running apps" screen and for some reason, Sprint was on the list and it indicated that my phone had been communicating with Sprint for quite a few hours. I turned the data setting to OFF and my battery has been fine today so far. I guess I had the Data setting turned to ON because I thought it had to be set to on in order to receive email and text and everything through the Sprint network. Guess thats what I get for trying to be smart

and I think this will also fix the weird message that I got when I tried to use Sprint tv. It gave some message about needing to use my carriers network to use it.

I don't see where you are referencing.
Under general Settings there is a COMMUNICATIONS option
or the left soft key is ALL SETTINGS > PERSONAL does not yield any comm options.
Are you talking about the COMMUNICATIONS option with the Data Connections Slider set to on?

There is a freeware app called battlog that will monitor voltage and save to a log file. That will show you what is happening. It requires NetCF3.5 to run. It's not new but it would do the trick.

If I go through my manila slider--> SETTINGS-->WIRELESS CONTROLS--> COMM MANAGER--> DATA CONNECTION

I keep switching it to OFF but I just checked my phone and it was switched back to ON. ?

Yes, it will continue to turn the data connection back on because you probably have your email set to send/recieve every so often and when that time comes data is switched back on. Now, when data is switched on that doesn't mean data is active all the time. You will notice on the top taskbar an indicator that will light up white when data is active and will grey when inactive. Power is only consumed when the connection is active. The only way to completely turn things off would be to turn off your radio (put in airplane mode). But, if you do that you can't recieve calls , texts, or any data. If you don't want data to turn on by itself then turn off automatic send/recieve in your email settings. Then send/recieve manually .
