and I think this will also fix the weird message that I got when I tried to use Sprint tv. It gave some message about needing to use my carriers network to use it.

I don't see where you are referencing.
Under general Settings there is a COMMUNICATIONS option
or the left soft key is ALL SETTINGS > PERSONAL does not yield any comm options.
Are you talking about the COMMUNICATIONS option with the Data Connections Slider set to on?
