but it still gets the job done on almost anything,..just painfully gotta say the pre browser is very underrated. Im very surprised i never heard how good it was. Renders sites perfectly and although it has panning issues as well its no where near as bad as skyfire or any opera mobile. Its barely there. and with a simple patch im streaming The dark knight while downloading hangover. over wifi of course. |

Re: Why no WM 7 leaked ROMs?
Just playing devils advocate. Everybody kept saying current phones can't support it. If it takes a 1ghz ARM Cortex A8 cpu with dedicated gpu to support this OS, then this makes me feel it might just be as slow as 6.5 when it come out.
Wouldn't WindowsMobile still need time for developers to develop apps to take advantage of whatever new technology that are going to be available. It wouldn't simply come bundled with a bunch of new killer apps, or would it? Last edited by eksasol; 01-19-2010 at 09:07 AM. |

Re: Why no WM 7 leaked ROMs?
Let's not forget that the bigger the hype, the more likely MS will pull out of this WinMo Failure alive
6.5 and 6.6 are fails, we all know and understand this, hence why eyes are all on 7 |

Re: Why no WM 7 leaked ROMs?
One of the key things that often gets overlooked is WM7's requirement for a capacitive screen. This will make it very difficult to port over to any existing devices (HD2 being the notable exception). Even if someone does figure out how to get it to work, it is likely our beloved TP2's/Tilts, etc. wouldn't have enough horsepower to make it work effectively.
And I am not sure capacitive screens will be "better" - While they may be more finger friendly (I have an iTouch) you give up the precision of the resistive screens. You could never do handwriting recognition on a capacitive screen for example. For website browsing, I like the ability to pull out my stylus and click a hyperlink among several closely stacked links (a menu bar on the left or right) without the need to zoom in so far that you lose visual perspective of the web page. Just my 2 pennies worth... |
