i dont know if you guys noticed but calcu edited the build and removed what was unique about it like office 2010 threaded email and i really dont see the logic in adding a new build just to replace whats new about it makes no sense!

Re: how do i obtain oem files to make roms?

Is there any kind of guide as to what each system package does. this may be why indy's rom is so much faster than others. he may have some windows moble service removed that isent really used for much but slows the system down. I would like to go through each package and only include the ones i will be using, thus getting the most proformance from my pda as possible

Re: how do i obtain oem files to make roms?

There's not really a guide per se, but the questions have been asked enough that a relevant search should point you in the right direction. Most of the ROM/Kitchen Chefs trim out modules and packages that are reduntant, useless, or harmful to efficient performance. We're all learning here which is part of the fun.

Re: how do i obtain oem files to make roms?

I did some more digging and found a list of Packages that can safely be excluded if you choose:

Found here i take no credit for it. Also keep in mind these were listed for an HTC Diamond device which shouldnt matter greatly but I just want you to be aware upfront. I'm cooking a ROM in my kitchen right now to see how this pans out....

Packages that can be disabled in NATALY's Kitchen.
This is for all the newbies, like me, who have just started making ROMs using NATALY's kitchen.
We usually don't use (or like) stuff like "Market Place" , "Widgets", "Windows Live" etc etc.

So here is the list of all the system packages that can be removed while making the ROM :

ADC
AUTOUPDATE
bronze (Required for Titanium)
BronzeNonEA (Required for Titanium)
CHome (Titanium)
Enterprise
Entertainment
IPSECVPN
Livesearch
MODEMLINK
NetCF
Office
OneNote
RemoteDesktopMobile
RingsAndAlerts
SampleMusic
Skybox
Skymarket
SQM
Transcriber
Themes
VoiceCOmmand
VoIP
VoIPOS
INTERNETSHARING
WelcomeCenter
WindowsLive
WindowsLiveIM
WMLiveSearchWidget
WMMoneyWidget
WMWeatherWidget
WMWidgets

DO NOT DISABLE "FWUPDATE". DIAMOND WON'T BOOT WITHOUT IT!

You can also remove :

LongPressEndButtonKey
FMRadio

I"ll keep updating the list of packages you can remove.

[The above list has been provided by "****enz". Thanks man ]

After removing all the above packages you will have 128mb free on main memory.
And the RAM utilization with Titanium [Basic dialer, Large Menu Off, Enhanced Notification off, Classis Lock] is 45% [after boot].
And RAM utilization without Titanium is 40-43% [after boot].
