Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

1. "non-Mobile Shell" task manager is not accessible via Mobile Shell
2. Unable to connect with Mobile Shell's Facebook and Twitter widgets
3. Phone profiles do not function, neither the native Mobile Shell's profiles nor SPB's Phone Suite profiles.

Because of these reasons I've "downgraded" to Malatesta's 6.5 Titanium ROM. I would much prefer his 6.5.3 ROM, but until Mobile Shell functions correctly in 6.5.3 it will have to be 6.5 for me.
I think #3 is an issue regardless except for 3.5.3
Could you check SPB Menu->Settings->Spb Mobile Shell->Integration? please?
(That was posted from someone asking about the same issue)

In 3.5.1 there seems to be no integration setting, so it could have been added to 3.5.3
HOWEVER like I stated in my post below, the menus are still screwed up

It is possible that you can load the 3.5.3, get the phone profiles to work, and then do the tweak listed on the XDA site and BOTH will work. I have not tried this though, so I can't give feedback.

Also, I am using the STOCK ROM on Sprint. Just giving some SPB info on versions

UPDATE: Added the Reg change from XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621146
and can confirm that the menus work and are back to the HTC style WITH 3.5.3 installed.

The issue with SPB Phone Profiles occurs with Windows Mobile 6.5 in general. It is not specific to 6.5.3. According to SPB, Phone Profiles is not officially supported in WinMo 6.5, however, an update is planned.

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

I like running the latest builds of 6.5.3 for my rom, and the most recent versions break the function of facebook and twitter integration. I just figured it out! It seems these widgets use an older version of internet explorer to log on and don't play nice with the newer versions. I just cooked a 28014 rom with the ie packages from 28002 and viola, facebook integration is back! Hope this helps someone.

Well I have 2 obvious questions...

#1: Where is your ROM (link)?
#2: What else doesn't work with Mobile Shell?

1.) Well, I only build personal roms, highly customized and not for public use. All i'm saying is that I found out why these things weren't working. I hope to be able to narrow down the specific files that need to be copied over so I can make a .cab for everyone to use.

2.) As far as my day-to-day goes, everything seems fine. The task manager doesn't appear in the taskbar, but that's a known issue with mobile shell, that SPB is looking into (I hope!). However, on these newer builds, there isn't really a great task manager solution out there, showcase and x2 are okay... but nothing really special. Right now I just use showcase, so programs actually close when you hit X, and use SPB Task Manager to supplement it.

Well now that the SDK for 6.5.3 has been released hopefully SPB will get Mobile Shell working properly with it...

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

I used EnergyROM_28014_RHOD500_17.Dec.2009_Titanium.rar for awhile, until I discovered (on a trip) that it did not have tethering or act as wifi router. It worked quite nicely with SPB shell. One problem I did note was that some email messages would not open when clicked on, but I could read them by replying.

I am thinking of going with MightyRom, but can I still keep SPB Mobile Shell 3.5? Any issues...

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

On WMPoweruser, there is a video of Mobile Shell running on a HD2. The link is below if anyone want to see it. It's SO SMOOTH! If I could get it to be that smooth on the TP2, I'd ditch TF3D in a second. Does anyone know if there are any drivers out there that will help or are we simply maxed out with the CPU etc... I am on the latest Mighty Rom and it's still sluggish compared to the HD2 in this video.
