Sprint Users 6.5 ROM [Q1 - 2010]
 

I called Sprint Advanced Tech Support today and was told that they received an email stating the WinMo 6.5 ROM will be available to sprint users the end of January beginning of February. =D>

Also Said if its not available by then to call back and they'll be able to tell me if its been pushed back.

LOL it is funny that you trust tech support with information like that. It is all hearsay unless someone can provide proof of expected release date. I bet they are wrong.

LOL; Sprint support is a joke; I guarantee you if you call 3 different Sprint support people, you will get 3 different answers.

really? So who do you suggest we call Funny Guy,.. Verizon?! It took me 5 Transfers to even reach someone who knew what I was talking about but apparently she was Advanced Tech Support.

But does everyone understand the delays aren't normally for bugs. It just takes Sprint and all carriers a long time to request an update. And then HTC has to build it.

yeah true... but thats just part of the reason it might be delayed... also i belive the updates doesn't come directly from htc without a hand from microsoft dudes!! ;-)

Hopefully the date on this one is right, as that's not too far off and (for those of us who stick with stock for whatever reason) provides a pretty nice upgrade, not to mention a newer radio.

dont feel bad i had an entire coporate store tell me sprint wasnt getting the TP2 the day after it was released via telesales. they all turned bright red when i whipped out the tp2 and asked them how i got it.

im sorry, but i dont think i understand the difference between nerd and geek. You sir, are a member of PPCGEEKS so hence you consider yourself a geek, so what is your definition of a nerd? If someone calls me a geek or nerd because of whatever technological reason, im proud to stand up. That doesnt mean im not "popular" or i spend all my time in my room hooked to my PPC or PC.


As far as the OP's statement. I dont believe anything tech support says. Me being a service tech in a store, i tend to not even want to call tech support. Many of the long time members here can vouch for these so called Offical ROM Relase Threads being bogus and hearsay 95% of the time. From Mogul days all the way up to TP2, there have been many, many, speculation posts. So no offense to OP, but not many people will hold their breath.

I don't really see how this whole fighting is useful...? Especially over a Sprint 6.5 ROM.. sure It might come eventually maybe in one week/2 or heck one more month... Grow up and stop. Anyways thought back on subject, thanks for the information and hopefully it does come by that date.

I’m an undercover geek. I dress in fancy name brand clothes, drive expensive car, educated, go out with fine girls, and live the good life. I never mention to people I’m good with computers so they won’t ask me to be their freaking tech support.

That’s the problem I have with common nerds or geeks or whatever you want to call them. They get too lame and weird for my liking. In the grand scheme of things, this stuff is just some computer code with some metal and plastic.

Trust me, when I was younger me and my friends would be able to hack just about any carrier out there and use burn out phones for free. Anyone remember the Motorola StarTac Elite? That was a cool phone. Oh, how I miss the good old days

This info may be valid I have a source at microsoft who gave me the same estimated date of release about three months ago. I still take it with a grain of salt, so we will just have to wait and see. But there is no need for all the unnecassary name calling and arguing. I mean seriously over a software update. wow.....

I feel you cause I'm the same way. I got into computers for a number of reason, the money, i like games, i like getting stuff for free, like music, and i like customizing things,(ie. my car, phone, etc.) Right now my Lincoln MKZ is stilling on 20inch ION 114's, and if it aint name brand I aint wearing it.

This thread was about info i got when calling sprint, and i was trying to give sprint users some hope until a few idiots start giving there opinion like they work for Sprints ROM release team.

More fights? gezz... about another thread? We are suppose to be a community, not enemies. I'm too smart with computers at some points, I do lets say help family members with viruses and so or close friends but tend not to tell most people since they ask for help on basic stuff which gets annoying.
