Great phone! I just wish i had my camera flash back. That was real stupid of them. They put a stinkin button where the flash shouldve been. I dont even know the function of that damn button. Lol....

Agree with most posters. The screen is superior. The keyboard is better. The tilt function (really no comparison). GSM capability also!

The only things I miss about my TP1, is the LED light (that REALLY was handy!!) and the weight. The TP2 is considerably heavier. Minor issue is no reset hole in case (what is up with that???).

Not sure what phone you have, but the Touch Pro and the Touch Pro 2 have the same amount of RAM with LESS usable on the Touch Pro 2.

What are the cons and pros of the upgrade?

I am a recent upgrader who is not sold on the Touch Pro 2 yet. I have my TP1 sitting here waiting to go back to it if I'm not sold by the time my 1 month of usage comes into play. I might just be giving my TP2 to someone soon :P...

There are some great pros and some annoying cons when comparing the two phones. So it really will boild down to how you use the device and what your pain points are with the TP1. The TP2 isn't a device for every TP1 owner as this site will make it seem.

People usually like the good news first...

Pros:
1. The Touch Pro 2 has been refined. So it feels a lot smoother than the Touch Pro 1 did in a lot of areas. It does feel like the CPU is faster a lot of times when it isn't (Clock wise). So that's a major bonus.
2. The speakerphone is actually pretty good. It is probably my only really liked feature on the TP2.
3. Battery life has improved somewhat.

Cons:
1. Less usable RAM. I NEVER had Free RAM on my TP1 drop below 90MB. And that is with me never closing apps. My Touch Pro 2 sits under 20MB far too often and I have gotten out of memory messages... This is with me closing apps all the time! A major major con.
2. No LED flash. That was just too useful to leave out.
3. Touch Flo. You're really forced to swallow TouchFlo or end up with a very messy experience. I can't stand TouchFlo and turning it off leaves me with a notifications bar I can't disable with many broken options. A broken Dialer. Etc...
4. No D-Pad. I understand the jump to "touch", but the D-Pad is far more useful than the zoom bar they shoved on the TP2. Sorry, but not useful to me.

Neutrals:
1. GSM Support. Some will find this to be very useful, but since I haven't yet started traveling outside of North America I'm not going to see any use for this feature in the lifetime of my TP2.
2. Larger screen. I'm not sold on it, but then again I don't have vision problems so I don't see a larger screen as something I care for. Some do though so.

I'm sure there are more and the above stuff is my personal opinion so it is probably a lot different than the mainstream here...

For me, at this rate I'll more than likely be going back to my TP1 soon...
