Is there more than 1 unlocker for tp2?

Well, that may be a problem. Hmmmm I guess I can do it at work, but I can't shut off the anti-virus there. Oh well, it doesn't matter too much, I like the stock ROM, but always wanted it unlocked in case I wanted to flash to something different. Not a big deal staying on stock.

thats a very small price to pay to unlock your phone and have the freedom to flash roms and radios. if you feel unlocking your phone is not worth a measly 6 bucks then move along. perhaps your ticket was ignored cause you didn't provide the proper info. who knows. it really sucks that you have this problem and i do feel for ya, but what can you do. it's just a couple people trying to provide the world with a service. they are not some big company. jmho

I think you're missing the point.
I'm happy to pay the $6 if I KNEW it would give me the ability to unlock my TP2 for the rest of my ownership.

But, since these threads are being ignored, and I can't even get a response, I have no faith that the unlocker is going to work in the 1st place, let along ongoing.
Add the fact that we're all being accused of "previous unlocks" when we KNOW there are no such attempts, and it get;s even shadier.

All the developers have to do is get on here and address the situation in order to restore faith.

Yup.. similar to what I just said. If I knew for a fact it would work, I would gladly pay the donation. Even if your A/V is disabled, the unlocker still has many problems and doesn't work half the time. And why have to pay AGAIN simply because it didn't work the second time around? You should only have to pay once , and the HSPL should 100% unlock your device without forcing another donation. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be negative, just trying to make a point. And to those of you who think I am whining or making a big fuss over this and that I should just move on and forget all about it...umm no. I am NOT whining. I just want something that WORKS. Is that so hard to ask for?

you guys really have no clue how many people unlock their phones every day with no problems at all. EVERYDAY! The unlocker can be finicky and require a computer savy person at rare times, which is unfortunate, but to say it doesn't work half the time is a joke. Most of the time the problem is caused by someone not following the instructions in the first post. Which is not a knock on anyone. It's just that some people dont know enough about these phones and computers to follow them properly. Not being able to identify what antivirus and firewall software is running on the computer and then temporarily disabling it causes problems too.

Sounds like you would like your cake and like to eat it too?

you're saying, that you'd gladly pay for a 6$ unlimited unlock license, when there is no such infrastructure for this option.

for example have u thought about this "donation" to unlock is a roadblock to mass unlockers that resell the Touch Pro2 unlocked for use on any carrier upping the price a few hundred bucks above standard

Sounds like a lot of ignorance, being spewed, when 99% of the people who used the unlocker had no problems, then theres's that 1% that screwed something up or didn't follow directions

I agree - I will give all the slack in the world to the awesome devs and rom chefs on here that do what the do for the love or for REAL donations- but as soon as you REQUIRE payment for functionality - make no mistake they are doing this - you are a vendor. With this comes certain responsibilities - customer service and a product that WORKS.

These guys are screwing a lot of people out of money with no functionality and no answers to emails and requests in many cases. I have enjoyed and appreciated their work in the past, but this system is flawed and takes them from the realm of cool laid-back tinkerers to scam artists. I have no doubt this was not their intention, but it is the outcome. I received a replacement TP2 from VZW and I am not even bothering unlocking. I figure that it is the only option I have as I do not have the knowledge to unlock on my own and I don't trust these guys now that I have watched my brother email and PM for over a month.

Yes it is only $6 - no I am not THAT cheap (most of the time) - but these guys are now software vendors charging for what is most likely illegal software and I am staying away from it. (PS I agree it should not be illegal, but it still is and charging for it makes this even worse)

Also who cares if others make money off of this software - they are charging for the service and the know-how of unlocking - anyone who is willing to pay one of these guys to unlock and flash for them is not gonna find it themselves anyway. I just find it funny and hypocritical that guys who worked hard to find a way around what is basically harwdware copy protection are now basically copy protecting their work. Bad Form. Either unlock or make your stuff work at least 90% of the time.

I'm not trying to bash these guys. I appreciate their work.

But, if you want my money, just ask for it.
If you want to be a vendor, just communicate with your customers.
