Question TP2 Not recognized by PCs

Until today my TP2 was recognized and synced with both my work and home computers.

However, this evening when I went to sync with my work PC, activesync did not lauch. At first I thought it was a PC problem and I tried the tips I found in the forum. Then I tried my home PC and the same result.

I tried connecting the phone as a external drive but that did not work on either PC. Also tried different USB cords, different USB ports, still no luck.

Even uninstalling and reinstalling activesync was unsuccessful. Deleting the connection setting did not work either.

Final straw, I did a hard reset and had no luck. When connected to the PC, the phone is not recognized. Under the phone's activesync program, I get the generic message about creating a connection but the "SYNC" option is greyed out. I am not sure if this is normal.

Now the phone and both PCs are in a state where no activesync connections exist. Connecting the phone via USB to the PC only charges it.

Anyone have any suggestions/ideas/experience/etc as to what the problem may be?

XP SP3
Activesync 4.5
Always Stock ROM (never been flashed)

Thanks!

Re: TP2 Not recognized by PCs

Sounds like a hardware problem on the phone. If you're under warranty, take it into your carrier. I'm guessing it's a bad motherboard and they'll just give you a new or refurbed device in place your phone.

Good luck.

Go into your device manager and delete your device. It will then re-install itself. I had the same problem tonight.

Re: TP2 Not recognized by PCs

hmm..does the pc recognize it?? like if you attach it does a drive installer pops up saying new device?..anyways

go to settings>all settings>connections>usb to pc then youll see some check boxes then the second one says underneath ENABLE FASTER DATA SYNCHRONIZATION (clear this check box if activesynce does not recognize the device) if its checked then uncheck it or if its not checked then check it...that should fix it!

to delete your device go to active synce window under FILE go to delte mobile device disconnect your phone and reconnect it..and go under connection settings on active synce mess with the it...update issue!

nope, no new device is found when connected to the PC.

checked or unchecked still not working

deleted the mobile device in activesync and reconnected and wont connect eventhough USB is available.

even though it charges via usb, the phone and pc are not communicating in any sense.

whatever is supposed to happen during a usb connection so that the pc knows the phone is present, is not happening.

Re: TP2 Not recognized by PCs

yep just charging. no new device found when connected. no pop up on task bar in right corner, no device in device manager (even 'scan for new hardware' returns nothing.
