you can replace the screen yourself. someone posted a link a little while ago, im sure it can be found by doing a search.

dont remember the price but i dont think its much.... should be hard to change either since its the whole upper unit.

Not sure if this is compatible with your model, but here is the screen. Then you will also need the digitizer, which sits on top of the screen, like this.
It's also, not exactly easy! There is a small ribbon cable that will have to be connected, and disconnecting it from the lower half, may require you to open the bottom anyhow. Good luck bud!

I've done screen replacements on the 8125, 8525 and the Tilt. They were not so bad, just take your time. I was able to find a repair manual online somewhere for these devices by searching google. I advice you do the same before opening it up. The first time I opened these devices, it took me about 2 hours but I just wanted to make sure I went slow and did it right, insuring that I didn't break anything during dis-assembly. Good luck.

THIS thread will give you some disassembly tips, but you may want something more thorough. I have not yet seen a SERVICE manual for the TP2 and believe it won't come out until February, last I heard.

I take it I mislabeled it as a repair manual by your capital "SERVICE"? Either way, that thread helps a bit but the SERVICE manuals I've seen in the past are much more intuitive. It's unfortunate it is not out yet.

I agree they are very helpful. I was not so much trying to correct your terminology, as I was trying to give the OP a term that he should unfortunately familiarize himself with. So, no offense meant bud.

yea if that would happend to me i would be mad but atleast i know its external markings and not hardware...cus you can buy the WHOLE outisde of it including the volume buttons END SEND START buttons digitizer battery cover pretty much everything itll be like spanking new again..i have done it to my mogul looked like the day i bought it lol for 25 bucks oem!..so dont worry its just needs a makeover!

oh yea for the TP2 not SURE if they have that kit out yet since its very new..but i know a site that has the kits oem they say HTC on it..let me know if you havent found anything then ill look for it...
