Here is the fix for the icons:
the bug is in the registry and it is a bug of v 3.5.3
hklm/software/spb software house 2/spb mobile shell/menu/root/settings

here is missing in folder 0-2 the dword value
name: Image
value: 128
And Pocketshield has dropped back to 3.2.1 until they find the fix. The problem is in Pocketshield not Mobile Shell.

Same here, I have actually tried one of the newer versions & really did not care for it.

WTF is the point of that stupid spinning cube thing?? Talk about useless eye candy that just makes things harder to accomplish, I used MS for two weeks & never used that once.

Re: SPB Mobile shell is it worth it?

When I had my Touch I thought Mobile Shell 2 was a great addition..I've tried to like 3 and just can't..I like Sense 2.1 much better.

Re: SPB Mobile shell is it worth it?

I don't use the carousel it takes to long to use. I actually change it to tile view which puts everything on 1 page now that is useful. Just go to launcher tap right icon at bottom and tap on tile view. Then everytime you tap the launcher it opens in tile view. Just stated this for those who do use it.

Yeah I use the tile view too. Every once in a while I will use the carousel view with the the G sensor enabled to show off, but for regular use the tile view is the one to use.

To be honest, I almost never use either of them though. I just swipe to the screens I need and hardly ever go into the carousel or tile selector.

Re: SPB Mobile shell is it worth it?

I think it depends on the other applications you use and are familar with.

MS was cool eye candy at first but after a week or two of trying it, I uninstalled it. There were some parts that I liked -- primarily the custom launch screen. For contact management, weather & agenda, I use either the HTC application's or Pocket Informant, so it was not worth the $30 for MS.

I use Pocket Informant for the agenda view, calendar & sometimes contact mgmt. I like how HTC integrates with Facebook (i.e., contact manager, status updates, etc.). The HTC weather ap uses the GPS to adjust your location, whereever you are, which I really like and use.

Thumbs up Re: SPB Mobile shell is it worth it?

I personally like MS especially now that they worked even more bugs out of the program. Works like a charm for what I need it for, I use along with Spb Weather which I also use a custom accuWeather template for weather and forecasting. The carousel I can hardly care for, but all in all for how I like to setup and use my TP2 it's perfect, I like the interface.
