Re: Elephant007's Sense 2.5 MMS Workaround *Working*

hi guys,
i was just wondering, i've read the few threads regarding the Sprint TP2 MMS not working..so i tried sending/receiving on my TP2. I was able to successfully send and receive MMS (haven't tried video though). So now i'm confused.

I am running on stock ROM and have TF3D disabled most of the time. Is this problem just occuring on custom ROMs and using TF3D?...or is it across the board. just want to know because I am wondering if I need to follow the guides that has been posted on the forum in for the MMS fix.

Well I'm sure the few threads you read also said that the MMS problem is for ROMs running Manila 2.5. So you wouldn't have the problem BC your stock.

oh ok. sorry...this the first time i owned a WM device and was wondering if Manila 2.5 was an across the board tweak or if it was just for custom ROMS. every day is a learning experience.

thanks for the clarification, pastert33!!

If by an across the board tweak you mean something you can install as a cab form or something equally as easy, no it's not. 2.5 files replace most of the 2.1 files that you have on your stock TP2. To my knowledge it is only available as files that you'd need to cook in a ROM or by flashing someone else's 2.5 ROM. This knowledge is from the TP world, but I'm pretty sure it applies to TP2 as well. Someone else can probably verify that.

If you're still running a stock ROM WTF!?!? Get to flashing! :D

LOL @Sharkie405.

that's what i was thinking. but amw had given me the general explanation of it via pm. i know, i know...i need to start flashing. i've had the tp2 now for a few months and have not flashed yet. my very fist WM device and a little apprehensive especially with all the different information i can gather just on this site alone! just want to make sure i read up on every thing i can first before jumping in. it's no excuse, but knowing me, i'll probably brick the phone on step 1 (may be an exaggeration, but wouldn't put it past me tho...LOL). im reading up on all the different kinds of ROMs out there and at this point, just deciding which one i want to try out first. that's why i was ecstatic when maan posted the different types of popular ROMs and gave an overview of them.

but like i said...at least now i know the difference between manila .1 and .5

I hear ya, it's scary when you first get your feet wet. If, however, you're like most of us, you'll be flashing a new ROM every other day or so! It's addicting!

On the thread topic...

I just cooked your work around into my ROM and it's works great! Thanks for sharing!

elephant007,
so I agree with you 100% love the htc messaging and dont want to disable it, but really want my mms. Im running mighty impact rom 12/27/09 but I use cricket service. Is there a way to edit your work around to work for cricket, all my other services are fine web,sms etc... Ive always managed to get my mms working from all different roms but im just completely stumped on this 1?????
