Elephant007's Sense 2.5 MMS Workaround *Working*

This workaround allows MMS to be sent without having to disable HTC Messaging, creating registry modifications or entering MMS server information. After implementing this workaround you will still be use HTC Messaging for SMS. I have personally tested ROMs 1 - 8 listed as working. This is the easiest configuration/setup available.
I recommend either a fresh hard reset or fresh flash before implementing this workaround, especially if you have done other workarounds first.
  1. Download and install ArcSoft file attached
  2. Download and install Elephant007 Sprint MMS Workaround cab
  3. Soft reset phone
Q: Do I need to do a registry tweak with this workaround?
A: No, this workaround does not require any registry tweaks

Q: Do I need to configure a MMS server (e.g. http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlet)
A: No, configuring a MMS server is not require for this workaround

Q: How do I send a picture after my phone reboots?
A: Follow the steps below

not sure whats new but the cabs named after you? seems like same thing i did in juicy thread when 2.5 first came out. glad it works though.

the cab changes it from opening with HTC Messaging to tmail picker
I didn't find the fix you're talking about because I haven't used Juicy's ROM, thus I haven't been to his thread

will your cab allow us to use text messaging the normal way i just recently flashed to MMwar downloaded the arcsoft cab file u just posted edited the cdma server my mms is working great but in order to send a text message i have to go into my contacts in order for them to get my text

with my tweak there is no need to configure mms servers
you can still use HTC Messaging for SMS too!!

im runnin Mighty War rom, works excellent, even tho im not big on mms but holidays like xmas n such required me to send out about 30 of em to family members, so I had to run the htc sms disabler cab which stinks.

Just to clarify, will this allow me to still receive pic/videos in the HTC messaging app? For example, when I go to my text message tab in HTC messaging will I still have my pics/vids threaded in as usual. Im running Mighty Mikes latest Impact ROM.

I changed nothing in the Arcsoft cab, only provided it so you wouldn't have to look for it.
My tweak removes the HtcMailAccount.dll from the GUID that is why it ends up blank

If you do not select VIEW when you receive the picture mail, you are unable to retrieve it through HTC Messaging.
I found out that you can view the picture by bringing up the message the person has sent you, press MENU in the lower right hand corner, then ALL MESSAGES that will take you to the SMS/MMS inbox, select the picture mail and you'll be able to view the picture

Hey Elephant007... The fix didn't work for me... I'm running Mighty Mike's War Rom,, the only thing that it did was cause the Rom to freeze up.. Did I do something wrong.?? Not sure.. Hit me back...

I know there are a few workarounds, this is the simplest for me
I don't know why the @; is there though
This does not disable HTC Messaging, so you still have the HTC interface for SMS messaging

NOTE: Please let me know if this works or doesn't work for the ROM you are running, give me the name of the custom rom, version and carrier. I will try to keep the status updated with the information

I have a question, what does your workaround cab do exactly because everything you mentioned works for me by just installing the Arcsoft cab?

What part didn't work for you? Maybe you should start with a fresh hard reset?

Which ROM are you running? Arcsoft cab didn't work for me in the instruction I gave until I added my Elephant007 cab. This cab enables you to get to tmail picker quicker by simply pressing the MAIL option.

I was having the same issue. I resolved it by doing a hard reset, and NOT using MM provisioning. After that, worked great.

I am running Mighty's War as of right now but it works on all of the Mighty Roms I've used. Let me correct one thing I didn't mention. After installing the Arcsoft I do make the one reg edit HKLM/System/Inbox/ExternalAccounts from SMS to SMS.htc

Is that what your cab file does?

That change is not required with my workaround. I would do a hard reset if I were you, then implement my workaround

when ever I did the regedit, the compose interface came up and never let me send the picture.
Plus if you use this workaround you won't have to do any registry tweaks or mms server configurations

ur cab worked for me and im running MM war rom on my sprint tp2 i just wish we could just go to the native htc messaging menu to do all our mms/sms it would just make it alot easier

fixed the proplem i hard reset my phone added ur arcsoft link then ur workaround and changed my cdma network mms settings now my text messages are back 2 normal

ok i tried evrything but i still can not view a pic after i open it but they only way that has worked for me has been to save the pic which kinda sucks but im sure either im doin something wrong or this will b ironed out soon

try a hard reset then install the arcsoft cab file he posted then his work aroun and your messaging should go back to normal thats what worked for me
