I'm sorry, I'm new.
How do you install the .cab file for the 2016 fix?

Do I just double click it in windows or do I have to drop it in TP2 file folder than install from there?

put it either on your mem card or a folder on the phone then run it from explorer. Install to device.

So still no confirmation on exactly why this is happening? Seems pretty clear that it's an SMS gateway issue? In which case it'll probably be silently fixed without any actual admission of guilt...

My Touch & Touch Pro 2 both still show 2016?

Where are you? I am just outside Indianapolis, IN. Sprint stock rom.

Do any Intrepids have this problem? My wife has one & it is showing 2010.

I still had the issue today as well but I used the work around .cab fixed it on my TP2 and my brothers Treo Pro.

its just not sprint and verizon. us cellular has this problem to. they are aware but have no workaround or any ideas why this happened. i told them about the fix here. so now they are going to be sending people here for the fix.
